The university draws students primarily from Maryland, Grand Kru, and River Gee while extending its footprint across Liberia.

In 2025, TU graduated 265 students across the six colleges and recorded a 100% pass rate for 31 nursing graduates on the national board examination.

Established in 1978 as William V. S. Tubman College of Technology and chartered as a university on 14 September 2009, TU continues to widen access to quality higher education in southeastern Liberia.
